Rainbow Loom Expert Project

There was another Expert project presentation this week! This time it was on Rainbow looms. Leah did this expert project and it was quite interesting because the rainbow loom things are very common. Most people know what they are but they don’t all know much information about them. For example who invented them? It was this guy who was from Malaysia and he made it because his daughters had made these rubber band bracelets on their fingers. Then he made a little prototype of the rainbow loom board with wood and nails. That sparked the idea of the rainbow loom.

The project was very interesting. It was done on PowerPoint. There were lots of pictures which I liked. A suggestion I have is to put in more information and that is one thing that I would recommend changing for next time. Good job Leah!

Special Olympics Expert Project

Today we had our first expert project presentation by Hailey! It was on Special Olympics. I never realized how many events there were. She had lots of ribbons, Wow! I wonder how many ribbons she will have in a couple years? Hailey did so well speaking she said lots of big words like competition, intellectual and rhythmic gymnastics. Did you know that: Special Olympics is dedicated to enriching the lives of individuals with an intellectual disability through active participation in sport. In total there are eighteen sports in Special Olympics. Hailey participates in hoop, ball, ribbon, and rope. This is the athlete’s oath “Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.” Great job Hailey!

Expert Projects

We had Aidan and Joshua present their expert projects this week. Aidan's topic was German Shorthaired Pointers and Joshua's topic was Tech Decks. Great job to both of you. Thanks for sharing your expertise!

EP Presentation

I did my presentation on German shepherds. I was a little scared at first but then it was fine. I had lots information but I could have added much more. I did my project on power point and I think everyone enjoyed the video I showed of my dog Thor who is a German shepherd and I showed a picture of my dog too. The best part about my presentation was telling about my dogs Elvis and Thor.

Expert Project

Hello blog readers!

This week, I (Alex) presented my Expert Project on Golf. My main section was on how everything came to be. I talked about the clubs, golf balls, golf tees, golf bags and caddies. I also included a list of common golf clubs. The only major change I made was that I was going to do golf rules. Then I saw the 20 Billion page article (exaggeration), I decided against it. I was told by the class, compliments, and tens. I was told I spoke loudly and clearly, and also slowly. It was suggested that I put more pictures into it, and to put in some famous players. I was very proud of my E.P., and my next E.P. is on Tibetan terriers (a type of dog).

Today I presented my EP project on soccer. The reason why I picked soccer is that I played soccer since I was little and I have a lot of experience. Also because I felt that it would be good because I know a lot of stuff about soccer. I learned a lot about the famous soccer players. Like who are they and what they did or played for. I picked prezi because it is really easy to use and also because I know how to use it. My next EP is going to be about koala bears.

Hello blog readers! I presented my EP project this morning. It was on World War 2. The reason I picked that is because I am really interested in it, and my dad really knows a lot about it. He reads World War 1 and 2 books and watches videos a lot. I presented it on PowerPoint. I don’t have the biggest idea on why I picked that. I guess I just liked it and thought it was a really good way to present projects. It was very long. My dad gave me a lot of information. I think I might research World War 1 for my next EP project.

Hello blog readers! On Friday I presented my E.P (Expert Project). I presented it on Money. I presented using Prezi. I have learned a lot about money. I have especially learned about all of the current Canadian coins (Penny, Nickel, Dime, Loonie and Toonie). Some of the facts I learned are: The earliest money was feathers, stones, beads and shells. In the 10^th century the Chinese government issued heavy iron coins with little value.

Hello guys its Riley here, On Friday I presented my very first E.P. Expert Project! My presentation was on Hockey and what I talked about on my E.P. is… The rules of hockey, the equipment you should wear, and some tips of hockey like the good types of sticks you should use and other things. The creator of hockey is Tommy Gorman. I think my next E.P. will be on rollercoasters because I have liked them since I was little.

Hello blog readers! This week we had Music Monday. A man named Chris Hadfield was doing his last live video stream from space. He was in the International Space Station which is in space for 6 months! He was the first Canadian Commander of the International Space Station. He left in December 2012. He is still there. When he was in space, he sang his song “I.S.S” (Is Somebody Singing or International Space Station). We watched the live webcast and sang the song with him. That was on Music Monday. You can watch the video at the end of this blogpost.

We had basketball this week. We have practices and we are doing a lot of scrimmaging. We are going for a basketball tournament on Monday! There are going to be 10 teams there, and we are going to vs. them all. We are going to get Little Ceasers Pizza for lunch! I cannot wait!

This week we had 2 ep presentations! Cameron presented his ep (Expert Project). It was on Hockey. He showed us a bit of what he knew rules, tips, gear and some of the best hockey players ever. We also went to Ms. Wasney’s class to see Zach’s ep. He presented Barack Obama. It was cool. Good presentations to both of you!

Since Mrs. Tresoor’s class didn’t have any behaviour problems in April, we got blue bracelets! No one got any white slips. That was a nice surprise! If a class gets no white slips in a month, they get a surprise. Last time we won, we got frozen yogurt tubes!

This week we watched a video in health. It was on Drugs, teaching us not to smoke. What happened was there was a kid who wanted someone to play with, and he found a live cigarette. He went to an amusement park called “The Pack”. He never wanted to smoke after that. He rescued 2 kids who were working there.

Expert Projects

Today I presented my expert project. My expert project was on Bald Eagles. I chose the topic Bald Eagles, because I knew a lot about them and where they live and also what they look like. I also wanted to find out more about Bald Eagles. I used Prezi to present it to the class. Some of the sources I used are books, videos, pictures, and of course Prezi. I thought that it went really well but I could have talked louder. My next Prezi will be about wolfs or owls.

My next expert project is on Steven Paul Jobs, AKA: Steve Jobs. I’m doing Steve Jobs because he was a really smart inventor and I have some of his merchandise. I hope all goes well!

Expert Projects

Hi blog followers! I presented my E.P (expert project) yesterday, it was on William Shakespeare. I decided to do it on Shakespeare because I have an interest in theater and he is a famous play writer. I even learned some things myself! One thing I learned was that there were no official records regarding his education and birth. Another thing that I learned was that he was baptised at wholly trinity church in England. He also had siblings, two older sisters and three younger brothers. It was an interesting topic for me to learn about. I think the best part was when everyone said woo when I showed them my theater life paragraph I wrote on William Shakespeare.  I liked the questions that the people asked because they were good ones. My presentation was using prezi. Other presenters did it on power point but that was their choice.

Today I got to present my EP (expert projects). My EP was one direction. Why did I do that topic? I did that topic because I have 2 sisters that are CRAZZY fans of One direction. So then it makes sense that I would do it because I hear a lot! Another reason is because out of my top 3 favourite artists are one direction! The band members are Harry, Niall, Zayn, Louise, and Liam. Here is an interesting fact that I learned… Harry is the one that came up with the One Direction! One of the funniest facts was probably this… Harry thinks Niall looks like a Furby. There were a few choices to pick to present your project like Power Point and Prezi! The one I chose was Power Point. Another cool thing that was with my project was a song! The song I chose was Kiss you and it is one of the recent songs released I think! Thanks for listening!

Expert Projects

On Monday I did my EP presentation. I did it on the elements. I chose the elements because I wanted to know more about them. To present it I used power point. I was happy with how it turned out. There are three steps you have to do before you present. You have to research, type up your information, and then you get your presentation ready. There are lots of ways you can present your EP. You can use power point, prezi, and Haiku Deck. I already started a new EP project. I am doing Elephants. I can’t wait till I get to present it.

On Tuesday I presented my EP that is about Titanic! Though it did not have enough pictures, I had added a link for an awesome Titanic sinking CGI from the National Geographic website! I used Prezi to make the presentation! I’m soon going to make another EP on maybe the HMHS Britannic, The Yamato, UFOs, the US or Canadian Navy, and more. I’m so excited to make my next EP!

Hello blog readers. This week I presented my EP which is an abbreviation for expert project. I researched basketball. It had to be something you are an expert at or something you want to learn more about and I chose basketball because I’m good at it. When I presented I talked about who invented basketball. Who the best players are and lots of other stuff. I think that I should have added more information about the inventor of basketball and basketball teams and especially said more about my personal experience in basketball. I also brought in two medals and three ribbons. I won the medals from when I played basketball last spring and in the winter. Now I play on a team called Mayhem. They specialise in dribbling. Mayhem is my favourite team so far. I’ve only had five or six practices though. That’s how fun it is. My least favourite team was my team last spring.  I think I am going to do pollution for my next EP project. I want to do pollution because Amber Schuler said that you can always make a difference and I think that if people saw my EP on pollution and see how polluted rivers and oceans are the people that see it will try to make a difference.

Michael's Magic Bullet Demo

Hello Room 30 readers, today I’m going to be telling you about my EP project and my experiences. First I had to pick a topic. My topic was the Magic Bullet. It’s a blender. I was excited to research my topic I am doing. I went to the official Magic Bullet Site and DID not copy all the information I put it into my words. Then I used a PowerPoint like Donald Trump would use for business. I copied and paste the words I put on word document to the Power Point to make it a lot quicker to type. Then on March 20 2013 I took my secret blender to school The Magic Bullet. I really knew my stuff like who invented the magic bullet, who invented the first blender was named Steven Poplawski, and the person who invented the Magic Bullet was named Lenny Sands. Almost at the end I showed the infomercial. You can see the magic bullet infomercial here. I thought I did very well but some of my pronunciation was I little bit bad. Once I did my demonstration I think I did even better. I made a smoothie. The things I brought for the smoothie were: half of a banana, milk, raspberries and yogurt. And crunched up some wall nuts and put them in to the Magic Bullet. I put the walnuts for in the cooler for home because I’m not really of a fan of walnuts. But I drank the smoothie. My friend Hunter did a presentation on the same day I did which is today. She’s an expert on the town of Birds Hill, she did awesome.

Hello blog readers today I am going to tell you about my EP project. EP means expert project. An expert project is something that you are an expert on or something you want to an expert on.

My EP project is the town of Roseneath (Birds Hill). I got my info from people I interviewed and from a book called History of East St. Paul. I got the pictures from the internet. All of the info I got I put it on paper. I chose prezi so that I could do it at home and I liked how all of the canvas moves with all of the info. I was an expert on my expert project. The most interesting thing I learned was that the owner (Dr. Curtis James Bird) didn’t live there he had lived in Winnipeg. I already know what my next topic is going to be Nelson Mandela. Expert Projects

What’s up room 30 blog readers? I did the first expert project on CES it stands for consumer electronics show. In my CES presentation I talked about so many things like new cars, and new TVs, new technology and basically a lot of things that you will see in the future. Some things that you might see are the RED-RAY, the 8K TV, the transparent TV and my favourite is the duel screen. The duel screen is my favourite because if you are playing any multi-player game like a racing game or really anything that is split-screen it will merge it together. It looks really weird at your first glance. When it gets merged together you put on glasses that split your screen up into your full screen. The glasses also have ear buds in them so you can only hear what’s happening on your game or TV show. It’s also not just for games it’s for shows too if you want on TV. The 8K TV that I was telling you about earlier is kind of confusing so I’ll explain it a little bit. 8K means 8 THOUSAND rows of pixels but on your standard TV today it’s basically only 1000 rows of pixels.  So the 8K TV is 8 times better than your average TV.

Building our Classroom Matrix

This week we made a class matrix for our class room. It is like our playground expectations and lunch room expectations. The categories are Be Safe Be Responsible Be Respectful. Here are some examples for the categories this is two for Be Safe: Use tools properly and hands and feet to yourself. These are two for Be Responsible is be ready to learn and complete your work. These are two for Be Respectful. Listen to the speaker and be kind to others. The three expectations that I suggested are… Don’t chew gum like a cow and use kind words and always make others feel welcome.




Sleepy Buffalo

 

This is another thing we are working on for the two weeks. Every year we have this AAA thing and you have to have a story that you have to make up your self and you have to give the story a meaning. So this year we had the story of how the Buffalo got is horns! The character I am is Sleepy Buffalo. He has the part where I am sleeping and the two animals helpful Wolf and Helpful Rabbit has to put the horns on me and then I turn over and it looks like I am waking up and they finished their mission and put the other horn on. So why they are putting on the horns is there is a bear that is scaring all of the animals and they have had enough of getting scared. And some of the animals have come up with the idea of having horns on buffalo. But buffalo says I don’t want horns on my head! But they need horns on him because he is the biggest animal and the strongest animal. So in his sleep like I said they have to put horns on me! Then when he wakes up and he runs right past bear and he scares bear! And bear feels terrible because now he knows how all of the animals have felt. So he said I will never scare another animal. AND THAT IS HOW THE BUFALO GOT ITS HORNS!

This week we had our first EP project presentation and this was the first person to go it was Braden and his was on all of the future stuff. The name of the EP was called C.E.S and that stands for consumer electronic show and it was cool and it was about… New awesome cars new vacuums and even new shopping! That is really awesome and that is basically what he did and he also told us about this new movie player it is called the Red Ray and you even have a button  that makes it 3D!
