Today we did
print making with an artist, Mrs. Kulyk. It was of our animal from our Pourquoi
tale. I did a killer whale, Brooke did a
porcupine. Brooke’s title is how the porcupine got its quills and mine was how
the killer whale got its white markings. Maybe you can make one too. These are
the things you need: 1 piece of square wood, black, red, silver or gold paint,
sandpaper, paper, wooden tool, a Styrofoam square that fits the wood, paint
roller and a sharpie. These are the steps to make it:
1. Sand the edges of the wood
2. Paint your wood either silver or
black
3. Draw your animal on the square piece
of paper
4. Make an outline around your animal
5. Tape it to the Styrofoam
6. Go over your animal hard but don’t go
through the Styrofoam
7. Take the tape off and your picture
off
8. Use the wooden tool and go over the lines one
more time
9. Cut it out around your outline that
you made around your animal
10.
Get
some paint (black, red, silver or gold) on the roller and paint it on your
animal
11.
Take
your animal and place it face down on the wood
12.
Press
it down for 5 seconds then take it off
13.
Now
let it dry for about 5 to 7 minutes
14.
Do
some touch-ups with the sharpie and sign it
They turned out great! They will be up on the school bulletin board permanently. Come down to see them later this year.
